The gelaskin was pretty much everything I expected. I picked the summer oasis design because I wanted something bright and artsy and it looks exactly what it looks like online. I just wish it was lower in price, it seems a little high for just a skin. Overall, I am satisfied with this product. I get a lot of compliments and it adds something different than just the plain look of a laptop. In the future I will order another design.

It’s a really simple fabric bag, paid for it, nothing fancy. Material seems to pick up dirt easily. Strap is lightly padded as described.
“plenty of room for accessories” is a slight exaggeration. Power cord and mouse fit, but look bulky. some room for papers up front. Not sure if the person I got it for will like it.

I have had many different laptop bags and sleeves over the years. Out of the sleeves I have purchased, I like this one the most. It offers a decent sized pocket with a zipper, which is very nice so stuff doesn’t fall out. It fits my 13.3 inch laptop snugly and securely (obviously this depends on the laptop – mine is an ASUS UL30A-X5). The construction is solid too – I feel like it could take some shock damage.
There are only a couple things I don’t care for, and they are extremely picky. The carrying strap never quite feels right when using it. I would prefer a strap on the top or bottom, or just a different one on the side. The little Mobile Edge rubber icon thing seems pointless too, and looks tacky. These are literally my only two issues with it. This is a great sleeve.

Great sleeve for Asus UL30A! – Clint –
This sleeve seems to fit my Asus UL30A pretty good. It is a tight enough fit from side to side I had to remove my mouse dongle which is only about a half an inch long. The package it comes in says it is made for the mac 13in. but it works with mine so thats not a problem. It also has a nice little zipper compartment to hold extra stuff. The strap is big enough to slide up around your wrist and carry it like that.

If you got a macbook pro 13″ unibody…this is the PERFECT sleeve for it! Fits perfectly with extra room for storage. Although the storage are seems a little tight for the macbook charger. I don’t put the charger inside…b/c I’m afraid it’ll eventually penetrate through to the macbook bodyguardz covers and leave an indention. But other then that, it’s beautiful, feels smooth, and clever!
No protection on the inside from the zipper – Cog – Brooklyn, NY USA
This case seems like it would be great EXCEPT there is no protection on the inside from the zipper to prevent your computer from getting scratched. DUH!
Also, the pocket on the outside is too small to fit anything other than maybe a couple cds (but no jewel cases).
This is an example of a product with good materials and good intentions but seriously BAD design. They dropped the ball.

I agree with the comments about HP support. They are overseas, know little about the product, and are idiots.
I repartitioned the drive (after shrinking the Windows partition with instructions from ubuntuguide dot org) and installed Kubuntu 9.04 Linux within 1 hour. Everything worked right away — from webcam, to wireless, to video, to VMWare. This is one of the best laptops for Linux. I consider myself proficient at computers, so I also installed a few other OSs (on multiple partitions). No problems. I love this laptop. It is fast, and the widescreen great for movies. After 2 months I have discovered no problems (other than that Windows Vista sucks, but we all knew that, and the need to remove all the junkware that HP pre-installs.) But don’t use the recovery disk(s) — it wipes the entire hard drive clean and wipes out all your data. I learned this the hard way. HP sucks at software (and support), even though the hardware is great.

Customer Service Nightmare – Faustito – norcal
I’ve had my HP G60-440US laptop for four months now. During those four months, the laptop’s been out of order (non-functioning) three different times for an aggregate period of about five weeks. During the first month, the hard drive crashed, and I couldn’t turn the computer on. Then the little chippie-thing that allows the computer to connect to my wireless modem broke down. Most recently, the dvd player died while, at the same time, the new wireless card went kaputt. Consequently, I’ve had to send my laptop away to the service department twice, and have had to reinstall some chip or other part so that the computer could pick up a wireless signal. The computer has been a complete lemon. My friends warned me about purchasing an HP product, and I didn’t listen.
One of the worst parts about my HP experience has been the attitude of the customer service people. The technical guys in India were nice enough, but they kept me on the line for more than an hour before they agreed that I wasn’t lying about my hard drive having crashed. My experience with the managers in the U.S. was much worse. My conversation with customer service – notwithstanding all the scripted “I’m sorry to hear that, sirs” left me feeling absolutely powerless and with the feeling that, now that HP had my 0, they cared not a bit about my needs or satisfaction.
So, be warned – this is not a good product. I wish I had listened to my friends and spent a little more cash for a better product instead of this toy laptop.
Roxio Creator Insert – Pdaniel99 – Los Angeles
I just bought my Notebook this past October 2009. I like the note book and think it is great for what I need it for.
HOWEVER!!!! In my package along with many other inserts came an insert for LightScribe (Disc Labeling) On this Insert indorsed by HP it says unbder bullet point
“*Burn a custom, silkscreen-quality monochrome label directly onto the face of the disc using the Roxio Creator software alreadyinstalled on all LightScribed-enabled HP PC’s.”
I have spent HOURS with HP’s outsourced customer service representatives and also with Case Managers. This inser is very clear that the Roxio creator software was installed onto all LightScribed-enabled HP PC’s. I have gone back to Staples and checked ALL of thier instore PC’s and they do not have the Roxio Program as well.
talking and with the HP Representatives they have basically said they do not use this software anymore and have not for several years. Well, NOT ACCORDING TO THIS INSERT! When talking to HP they basically said have you read the specs. I let her know that I did but this was basically false advertising and she stated “If that is what you want to call it.”
WOW, this could have been solved very easily a LONG time ago but since the OVERWHELMINGLY HORRIBLE SERVICE I am going to see this one out.

I bought this laptop for my grandson and he uses it mainley to play games and to look up information on the web. Hes always using it, so I gather that hes happy with it and it works well. I have not heard any complaints from him yet ,regarding any problems.

This is an excellent laptop bag and I am extremely pleased with it. I am a college student and use the bag to carry books as well as my laptop, power cord, pens, mouse, and a small moleskine notebook. I have a 14.1-inch widescreen Lenovo (IBM) T61 with an extended battery (12 cell) and the bag holds it nicely, even with the extra sleeve that I put in there for extra protection. The sleeve probably is not even necessary, but if you decide to include it the bag has no problems with it.
The fabric is high quality and withstands light rain and impact. There has been some wear on both the corners and the strap from where they rub together, but it does not impair the functionality at all. The strap is adjustable and has not given me any problems.
The only other issues that I can foresee is that if you put too much stuff in the front pockets the bag can tip in that direction. The rubberized feet on the bottom help correct it, but sometimes it tips over. Also, if you put too many books in the back gusset, it will expand outward only so far. Eventually it will start expanding into the middle gusset, which holds the laptop, and can put pressure on the laptop screen (though that is a danger with any bag that holds both books and a laptop).
Overall I have been very pleased with this bag and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I always prefer to use this bag over my laptop-backpack, and bring it to class, to work, and when traveling. I feel comfortable biking with this bag when I bike to class and work. I highly recommend this bag.

I purchased my case back in August, and it still looks great and works well. Ample room for my Dell 15″ laptop, all the cords and power supply, phone chargers and mouse – and that’s just in the center pocket! Still room for my clipboard, a book, my headphones, one or two binders, and more. This bag is the center of my universe when I’m traveling, which can be up to two weeks a month. Fits under the seat on all planes, but depending on the configuration, doesn’t always leave a lot of legroom. It’s good quality construction, and looks nice, too. I do wish the shoulder strap was removable – I don’t use it – but it tucks in an outer pocket just fine.
